At Brinsworth Manor Infant School, we aim to foster a love of life and learning by providing children with quality first hand experiences and a rich and creative curriculum. We provide a happy, caring environment with wellbeing at its heart, where children feel safe and show respect,
Responsible
Empathetic
Sociable
Positive
Equal
Caring
Tolerant
Our staff have high expectations of every child and encourage them to be the best they can be.
Our motto and vision is 'to make the world a better place'.
All our themes start with a text and link to a global goal e.g Life below water. We try to make a difference through our real projects, like making a reusable bag to cut down on the production of plastic carrier bags. We also want to prevent these bags ending up in the oceans and causing harm to the turtles that think they are jelly fish. These real projects give our learning purpose.
We believe that:
"Big visions are realised through small steps."
“Every step forward is a foot in the right direction.”
Frank Sonnenberg
“Big things happen when you do the little things right”
Don Gabor
Teachers plan many links between subjects and activities throughout the curriculum, like a 'golden thread' to help our children remember what they have learnt.
Children are nurtured using a restorative approach and positive relationships are formed so that children learn to become comfortable with themselves, each other, adults and the world around them.
Children are encouraged to use learning qualities:
Collaboration - Team work
Challenge - Always try new things and accept mistakes
Communication - Speak and listen
Reflection - Think about learning
Reasoning and Evaluation - Ask questions and make conclusions
Resilience - Keep on going
We are extremely lucky to have enthusiastic children, skilled and committed staff, wonderfully supportive families and kind members of our local community to help us succeed in all we do.
